 Presentations for Pre-K to Grade 2,
    ~an in-school field trip~ 

Presentations are 45-50 minutes and include a lively discussion, a hands-on activity, and for some classes, live music (guitar).

Cost: $95 per class 

PROGRAMS
:
KEEPING HEALTHY 
This program is an overview of a healthy you. Topics include the heart, heart health, good choices of diet and other behaviors, and keeing germs at bay. Songs we sing reinforce topics about "germs" that they have learned in school, such as washing hands well and sneezing/coughing into your arm. Students take home a healthy craft to remind them to BE HEALTHY!

BIRDS IN YOUR BACKYARD
With original poetry entitled If I Could Ask a Bird! and song, What Bird Am I?, as well as original photos and bird sounds, children will be inspired in their natural curiosity and love for nature.  Several local bird species will be featured; students will learn them by sight and sound. Each child will take home an owl craft. 
 
ADVENTURES OF ANNIE ANT

 The children enjoy an original story about Annie the ant and then learn the basic characteristics of insects, as well as how to tell insects from their cousins spiders. Students make a take-home refrigerator craft of an ant.
 

 THAT MAKES SENSE!   
Children role play to learn that the sense organs send messages to the brain for interpretation and try their hand at sense samples—smell jars, touch box, and sound clips. Children hear the original poem Your Nose Knows. 
 

WHAT'S IN A PLANT, ANYWAY?
The stars of this show: flowers fruits, and roots! Children sing: Can You Plant This? and do activities, including flower.

SENSING TROUBLE       
Children try Sign Language and observe Braille as a means to understand what people with sense challenges might use. Children do common activities without the use of eyes and ears.

NATURE HIKE—IN YOUR OWN SCHOOLYARD
Nature is everywhere!Enjoy a nature hike in your school's backyard. Kids get outside and use hand lenses to obsere what is available--trees, rocks, and lichen. Learn about birds and some differences in diurnal and nocturnal animals.

SOUNDS LIKE SCIENCE!                
Now hear this! Children learn about sound and how we hear. Instruments will be demonstrated and in the hands-on activity, students make a musical instrument.
